2004 Land Rover Discovery SE

Sometimes a simple approach can have an outsized impact, and that described our approach when we built this truck. To start, the basics have to be right so we started with a rust-free Florida truck. Moving forward, we wanted to keep it simple for maximum utility and serviceability. For instance, to keep handling and ride safe and predictable, we opted for the installation of 1" leveling blocks and oversized 31.5" tires (the awesome Falken Wildpeaks) mounted to black powder-coated 18" Hurricanes backed by 30mm spacers. The net result was a truck the has just the right stance without additional complexities or awkwardness. Likewise, we wanted roof-mounted driving lights but instead of mounting an expensive and cumbersome roof rack, we opted for the new Terrafirma roof light bar. A simple but sweet solution! We Raptor-coated the roof for extreme durability, especially in light of the Thule cross-bar set up that will allow the new owner to adopt whatever useful final configuration they choose, from bike racks to basket. Likewise, we chose a very basic, very robust steel front bumper with an add-on light bar to which we mounted high intensity LED driving lamps with Daytime Running Lights. A very contemporary look but with tons of practicality. Out back the usual steel ladder, rear steel Terrafirma bumper and taillight guards round out the presentation. But its under the hood that our special expertise really comes into play as we installed one of our sweet running and very durable reengineered and remanufactured "top-hatted" engines. These engines feature the new cylinder liners that are guaranteed to prevent the most common problem with the 4.6; loose liners allowing combustion gas into the cooling system with resultant engine-killing overheating! Of course, all internal wear components have been replaced with new and the head gaskets are now retained with ARP high-torque chromoly head studs for excellent long-term peace-of-mind - hence our Guarantee! Of course, all the critical support systems have also been upgraded with a complete compliment of support ancillaries from the ignition system to the cooling system, with features a new radiator and te revolutionary Inline Thermostat upgrade for perpetually cool running. A fully greaseable upgrade front driveshaft is installed. Inside the stock black leather interior was freshened up and a new black headliner installed after the sunroof drains were reworked. And, in keeping with the times, a Pioneer 9" touchscreen with wireless Apple Carplay and a high-tech backup camera was installed, catapulting the truck into contemporary audio technology. All in all, we feel the result is a very special truck with tons of curb appeal and a ride/drive quality to match. Let us know if you would like a Discovery like this for yourself.
