2002 Land Rover Discovery Series II SE

This sharp 2-owner, no accidents 2002 SE has been a GA truck all its life so it is clean and rust-free. Its overall condition indicates careful ownership, but somewhere along the line someone forgot to change the highly corrosive Dexcool "Pink Death" coolant out as recommended. Unfortunately, the terrible result was a damaged block and heads. We bought it expecting to do head gaskets, but ended up having to rebuild the complete engine. So the new engine not only has new gaskets, bearing, timing chain, and lifters, but it also received our usual "upgrade" parts: water pump, hoses, belt, thermostat, coils, wires and plugs. We also put new rotors and pads on all 4 corners. We did some bumper repairs, but on the whole the paint and plastic are in great condition. Likewise the interior is very nice with a couple of unusual features: it has factory-installed independent rear air conditioning, a feature usually found only on 7-passenger models, and the headliner fabric has been carefully removed and the hardboard painted to compliment the leather colors - no more sagging headliner ever! We also installed a contemporary high-end Pioneer radio head unit with Bluetooth, USB, Pandora, etc. ad remote microphone. Withe the solid reputation for durability that the 4.0L early Disco 2's have and a fully rebuilt engine, this truck is ready to deliver another 15 years of service and many, many miles of enjoyable driving.
